Things to enjoy Labor Day Weekend on 30a 2014
As the Summer crowds have now thinned out here along the beach with school starting and football season here, we are set to celebrate the last holiday of the Summer season; Labor day. There are some exciting events planned for the upcoming weekend but before we get in to those, I want to encourage everyone to consider a last weekend here at the beach. The water is absolutely beautiful right now. There is no seaweed to be seen anywhere and the waters are a brilliant combination of aqua green and deep blue; prettiest they have been all year.
Here is a quick list of fun things to do this weekend along 30A…
SATURDAY AUGUST 30….
SEASIDE FARMERS MARKET from 8:00 AM TO 12:00 PM. Farm fresh, locally grown produce, baked goods, heirloom seeds, artisan breads and cheeses, organics.
CONCERT AT SEASIDE starts at 7:00 PM, featuring Mike Whitty & The Courtyard Saints. Bring your blankets and chairs for this live entertainment under the stars at the amphitheatre.
CALLAGHAN AT THE SEASIDE REP at 7:30 PM. Her songwriting chronicles the stories, experiences and emotions of everyday life. Huge hit at the 30A Songwriters Festival earlier this year.
SUNSET MOVIE AT WATERCOLOR begins at 8:00 PM at Marina Park. Bring your blankets and chairs and enjoy the full feature of “Monsters University”.
SUNDAY AUGUST 31….
ALYS BEACH 5K RUN starts at 7:00 AM. Course through Alys beach and nature trails with obstacle course for the kids. Race will end with music, food and beverages. $35 adults, $20 kids.
GULF PLACE FARMERS MARKET from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. On the green featuring fresh fruit & veggies, organics, crafts etc.
ROSEMARY BEACH FARMERS MARKET from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Complete array of fruit, veggies, milk, butter, cheeses, beef, pork sausage, lots of ready to eat fare including smoked tuna dip, chips, salsa’s, hummus, fresh baked pita, Spanakopita, curried chicken, fresh pasta. Great market !!!
CONCERT AT WATERCOLOR starts at 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Featuring The Flip Flop Boys and their beach style music. Open air concert at Marina Park.; Bring your own blanket and chairs.
CONCERT AND FIREWORKS AT ALYS BEACH from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Great live music by Compozitionz followed by fireworks ! Piper’s will be offering hot dogs, popcorn, popsicles, beer, wine and other goodies.
