Summer Fun Events On 30A

Summertime at the beach is the most popular time at the beach here along 30A and as July 4th approaches, now is a great time to highlight some of the fun things to do that are taking place.
Here is a quick list of Summer fun events on 30a that take place at certain times throughout the Summer;
SEASIDE:
The Seaside Rep, which is the areas only full time professional repertory troup, is putting on what they call “Seaside Shorts” which will begin at 7:30 PM every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights at the Seaside Theatre. These are “bite size” short plays that are described as fast and furiously funny takes that last anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes each. The entire production lasts 90 minutes. Tickets are $25 each. Also at the Rep this Summer is nationally recognized magician Jeanette Andrews who provides her renowned take on “the impossible” . This is great fun for all ages. She will be appearing every Saturday at 7:30 PM from June 21 through August 2. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for kids.
The Summer Live Concert Series takes place again this Summer at the amphitheater every Wednesday night at 7:00 PM. Bring your blanket or lounge chairs and enjoy the live entertainment. These shows are free to the public.
The South Walton Independance day parade takes place on July 4th beginning at 8:00 AM in Seagrove Beach and culminates at the Seaside amphitheater with food and drink. This parade features many of our local businesses with floats and other fun filled entries.
WATERCOLOR:
July 3rd at Watercolor from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Watercolor’s Marina Park is the 3rd annual 30A benefit concert. Performers include Tim Jackson and the First Note Band, Geoff McBride, Sharif Iman and Ike Bartley. There is also a great silent auction and raffle to benefit local charities. Admission is free so bring your blankets, chairs and coolers !
On July 4th, bring the family and come out to Watercolor’s July 4th annual bike decorating, parade and carnival. 10:00 AM bike decorating at Cerulian Park. Decorate your bicycles and golf carts with patriotic red white and blue. 10:30 AM begins the parade to the Marina Park at the Baithouse for a carnival that includes waterslides, bounce houses, crafts, music etc. Food and beverages available for purchase. The day is capped off with the annual fireworks celebration at the Watercolor Inn and Resort (beachside). This huge fireworks show takes place right at dark and is open to anyone.
There is outdoor live concert entertainment taking place all Summer long on Monday’s from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Marina Park in Watercolor. Blankets and beach chairs are a great idea in order to enjoy the lineup of entertainment from June 9 through August 11.
ROSEMARY BEACH/ALYS BEACH:
Alys Beach and Rosemary Beach also have their July 4th celebrations as well as Summer activities. Celebrate the 4th at Alys Beach with an open air concert on the lawn with the Atlanta Allstars. There will be food and beverage available and it is open to the public at no charge. Every Tuesday night at 8:00 PM there are live concerts from a host of different bands with food and beverage available as well.

The 4th at Rosemary Beach starts with a bike decoration breakfast at Barrett Square with complimentary doughnuts and orange juice followed by the annual bike parade and fun with sack races, water balloon toss, games and prizes for the kids and more. At 6:30 PM The Village Brass Band will perform which is Rosemary Beach’s own New Orleans style jazz band. The day is finished with a large fireworks display on the beach at 8:45. Rosemary Beach Sinfonia will do presentations of Peter and The Wolf all Summer long
on the lawn at North Barrett Square every Monday night beginning at 7:00 PM. This is a live production with both narrative and score.
